Our Story: From a Single Spark

In My Head didn’t start in a boardroom; it started in the quiet, difficult moments of recovery.

In October 2025, our founder, SecretBipolar, experienced a severe mental health relapse. During the long road of recovery that followed (which is still ongoing today!), they reached for a "no-brainer" tool: creative therapy. With over 20 years of experience building online communities, SecretBipolar realized that the best way to heal was to build a place where others could do the same.

Soon after, LippyRaRa joined the mission. Like many of you, both of our founders live with their own mental health diagnoses. They knew that by combining technical "know-how" with real-life experience, they could create something of true value.

Our goal is simple:
If we can help just one person feel less alone, every hour of work is worth it.
A Safety-First Space

Because we’ve been there ourselves, we take your safety personally. In My Head is a place for non-urgent emotional support and sharing.

We aren't a crisis service, which is why you’ll see a red banner at the top of every page. That link is always there to guide you to urgent help if things get too heavy. Our community rules aren't just "red tape"—they are the guardrails we use to keep this space kind, supportive, and safe for everyone.

The People Behind the Scenes

Running a thriving community is a team effort! Here’s who helps keep the lights on:
  • The Administrators: Our "tech gurus" who keep the software running smoothly and handle the big-picture stuff to keep the site healthy.
  • The Moderators: Our watchful protectors. They read through posts to make sure everyone is following the rules, helping to keep the conversation helpful and respectful.
  • The Wellbeing Team: This is a special group we are currently building! We are looking to partner with mental health professionals who want to volunteer their expertise. Their goal is to provide deeper insights and a professional "unbiased" view to help our members grow.
  • The Writers: These are our "Super-Users." Whether they’ve shared over 600 posts, helped us write articles, or just gone above and beyond to champion the site, they are the heartbeat of our content.
  • Mystical Creatures: On rare occasions, we award this legendary rank to members for standout achievements. It’s our way of saying, "You’re amazing!"
