ANGER - IS IT A THING?

Post by Mad Max »

Hi

I am all over the place. Convinced I have BPD, worried it might be Bipolar or now am I just angry and jealous and that's just me.

How can I honestly go the GP and say "I am angry all the time please help"". I'll be a laughing stock.

Is anger actually a thing; it might make me feel bit better about myself and hopefully give me some light at the end of the tunnel.

Thanks for any advice

Mad Max

Hi Max. Of course anger is a thing. Its an emotion. I've not heard of 'anger' being a thing by itself per say - more its a symptom of another condition. At least, that's how I understand it, but I could be wrong! Do you have any diagnoses at all (if you don't mind me asking but feel free not to share).

And for the record - and this is very important: I wouldn't think you were a laughing stock either - infact I think the GP would admire you for being so brave

Greetings

I agree with what Friday13 said with regards to you being admirable and you should feel this way as should your GP.

In my humble opinion (and I'm not a professional), but when I am angry it stems from something, somewhere, someone. I guess what I am saying is, maybe its less about the anger and more about identifying the cause. Often, if I deal with the cause, things become a little easier for me and the anger just dissipates over time.

The same principle applies to stress. The sooner you are able to deal with the stress, the less overbearing it can feel. Nowadays if there is a problem or stress - I tackle it straight on - ready for the output no matter what. Whilist it makes for uncomfortable situations boy do I feel better about that than say procrastinating about it.

Just my two cents of logic.
Very best regards,

Hi Max

Oh i don't like you feeling like that but you are not alone (I know that may not help). I think one thing that sticks out from the above posts is that you are certainly not a fool or being a laughing stock - anger is a genuine emotion. I appreciate it may be embarrassing to talk about too but your anger may be coming from a certain source worth checking out?????? maybe that's what I would do.

Hi Mad Max

Anger is of course an emotion. I'm starting to learn to not beat myself up, and there are others like myself, and that there are others there to help me when I need them (like this forum).

Hope you are OK, I will look out for your posts xx
