[Seeking Help] I am curious

A quiet place to explore mindfulness and its role in mental health. Mindfulness is about being in the present and can include being aware of our senses in that moment thereby enhancing wellness by reducing anxiety and aiding in depression. Ideally it should be practised regularly. Share your journey.

Greetings

So I don't have an official definition, but what I was told is and I'm happy to share is
  • Meditation is about focusing on a single point e.g. breathing or by portraying visualisations to install calmness or confidence
  • Mindfulness is about learning how to be in the present moment. That is - feeling our sense see, hear, taste e.g. mindful eating, mindful walking, breathing. I'll re-iterate - its about using the tools around you be in the moment.
I would say there is a debated grey area, that is, in the example above you'll note I mentioned "breatthing". Take that as you will, but, I believe the above is the general rule.
Very best regards,
