Mindfulnes for suspected BPD / Anger / Jealousy
Hi
It feels like I need some of this mindfulness stuff in my life. Anger, jealousy etc. How do I even get started with this and will the even help?

Re: Mindfulnes for suspected BPD / Anger / Jealousy
Greetings
Whether it will really help is only something down to you. What works for one person will certainly not work for another.
The same principle applies to say CBT. Some people just do not get on with it, despite really really trying.
I have been through times in my life where I have needed CBT & Mindfulness. Mindfullness certainly cut out the noise and made me a WHOLE lot calmer. Probably down to breathing work also which I used when I got agitated. Maybe the same logic would apply to you, particularly if you get angry. I guess the same could be of jealousy though I couldn't say for sure.
Maybe a conversation for your GP? I'm not sure if they do group mindfulness anymore - thats what I did - and everybody struggled including myself, so if you give it a go - don't be put off by it - oh and your mind will wonder and get distracted - I just say "Oh OK - I got distracted - back to trying!"
Hope that helps - at least that's my experience anyway.

Hi Max, sorry you are struggling. You could try and start the Headspace App (on Android and iPhone). Thats what I did. It introduces you to mindfullnes slowly and it really helps (at least it did for me). I thought I could never do it, but when you are struggling with it like your mind wonders, you are simply guided back to your meditation (and without judgement which means you can carry on comfortably.
Au revoir! I have EUPD - EMOTIONALLY UNSTABLE Personality Disorder, so please be kind.

I think its the above comment that has really resonated with my treatment. Sometimes things just don't work, you don't connect with the other person. Lots of reasons. Don't beat yourself up, just accept its a bad day (without judgement) and try again another day. You can do this!SecretBipolar wrote: Mon Feb 09, 2026 4:36 pm Greetings

I think you can use the free space app and if my memory services there used to be some free sessions on there to introduce yourself to it.
Maybe have a look, it helped me.

I think my username gives away what I suffer from.

Hiya Mad Max
I suffer from BPD too. I use a free app (On android) called Bhuddify. Its free so may not hharm you to check it out?
They have "wheels" and on each wheel you have segments which represents a mindfulness/meditation exercise.
The "wheels" are themed too such as "bad day" or "at work" (those aren't the names of some wheels) but you get the idea.

I can confirm I have used Bhuddify too. It doesn't necessarily take you on "the journey" that perhaps head space takes you on but it allows you to really get stuck into meditation such as the basics of box breathing. I'm sure you'll find a "wheel" you'd like (you'll know what that is when you use it).HangryCaterpilla wrote: Tue Feb 17, 2026 2:02 pm Hiya Mad Max

Hi.....there are mindfulness activities that can help with all those feelings. They can also help by relaxation - and even to a point where you fall asleep (I have done this many many times
)
It's OK to do this too - its part of the journey. Don't beat yourself up.
