The Winter Olympics

Post by Ray-of Sunshine 89 »

Who is enjoying the Winter Olympics at the moment? For those in the UK, its on BBC (I dont think it is on ITV). My daughter does ice skating (infact both of them do) - and they are absolutely loving the figure skating. It gives them something to aspire to and makes me happy when they smile and I see their reaction. Oh if you have just watched the ski jumping - well - that is amazing and OMG they definitely won't be trying that any time soon. :o

Greetings

Yep I am watching it. I find the ice hockey extremely exciting to watch. I've never really seen ice hockey, but the grace and speed at which they move across the ice is amazing. I watched Canada play (world champions) and they were fantastic. No idea how they control the puck that well, nor shoot for goal.

I don't really understand the rules other than trying to get the puck into the opponents goal so if anybody could share their wisdom that would be useful.

100% ice hockey. Currently watching Canada vs USA. Great entertainment. Fastmoving, skillfull and I love a bodycheck or two.

Is it me or is it 100% curling 100% of the time? After every event snippet, its back to live curling. Once that is finished, its curling highlights. Followed by curling snippets near the end of the Olympic day.

Did anybody see the "finger push" of the canadian team? I mean, from my understanding its against the rules, but it was certainly not OK the way he reacted by swearing - totally out of order!!

Hi there
The curling being on TV all of the time made me smile (yay well done you for doing so). It is so true, and it is on TV morning, afternoon, evening, night. You don't see that on any other event.

I'm not familiar with the rules of curling other than i guess to get the rock to the middle of the target. Swearing isn't really on though.
